An Exciting Weekend

My daughter asked me a couple months ago if I wanted to join her and do the Bridge City Boogie 5k in Saskatoon on June 9th.  Well I said yes even though I was in terrible shape!!  I hadn’t kept up with my walking all winter.  No excuses, just got lazy I guess.

So I got busy walking again and trying to get my distance up.  Years ago I used to walk 2 miles a day but again, I got lazy and was only doing one mile and not everyday!!  I really need to smarten up and start taking better care of myself now that I am retired.  I have no excuses any more like I’m too tired after work, or I just haven’t got the time!!!!

So any way today was the day of the 5k.  I was thinking to myself that if I could do it in 90 min. I would be happy……..but……..I did it in 51.09 min!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am so proud of myself, and so grateful to my daughter!!!  She is an amazing person!!!  She is in amazing shape!!!  She has always been able to run and I know she would have signed up for the 10k run if I had of said no to doing the walk!  She stayed beside me all the way and we walked across the finish line together!!

Holly you are my hero!!!

It was a great day and God willing I would love to do this again next year!

75th Birthday Card

I’m Done!!!!!!  I had quite a few card orders to do for this coming week and am finally done!

This card is for a friend and co-worker’s MIL.

I haven’t used the method of coloring the stamp itself then huffing before placing it on paper for along time. Love it!!

Photo Card

Hello everyone.  I hope you all had a good Easter with family and friends. We spent Easter Sunday with my Brother and his kids. The girls made supper and it was very good!  The best part??…..I just sat back and relaxed!

Today I was going through some winter pictures I took here is the yard and found one of our evergreens full of frost.  I also had the SU stamp set” Elements of Style” and the saying I thought was perfect.  Here is my card.

Today I am working on Thank you cards.  I have two made and still need a few more.

I tried to hold back on how much I embellished these as they might have to go through the mail.  I find this hard to do sometimes but think I did ok here!

That Stella!!

She is such a character!!!  Just look at what has come out of her mouth about birthdays!!!  She kills me!!!

I used clear nail polish for her glasses.

It is an amazing day here in southern Saskatchewan!  It is sunny and +6c!!  it is melting and the air smells so good! On the other hand we have storm warnings out for snow and freezing rain for tonight and tomorrow……that’s the way it goes here!

I used alcohol ink to color the clear buttons so they would match my colors.

A New Card, A New Style!

Good afternoon to everyone!

A lot has happened since my last post!

We went to Las Vegas for a week at the beginning of February.  Had a great time…..drank too many margaritas and walked many miles!!!!

As of this posting my husband has turned 65 and has retired!!!! I on the other hand am still working till the end of April and will be retiring as well….YIPPEEEE!!!!

On to my card……I picked up the new issue of CardMaker magazine Spring 2013 and found this really cute fold and just had to try it!

It is a very thick card and will probably have to spend extra to mail it ……… here it is flat…..

A Christmas Card Come Back!

Hi everyone……yes I am still alive!!

I have been having some trouble getting my groove back still!!!  Now I know How writers feel when they have writers block!!!  Tis the season so I am attempting to get Christmas cards made and maybe it will fix my groove so to speak……fingers crossed.
